Blocked zones appear as red zones on the map and cannot be captured. Here's what you need to know:

What are blocked zones?

Blocked zones are zones that are temporarily unavailable for capture. They appear red on both the TURF app and TurfZones platform.

Common reasons for blocked zones:

  • Technical maintenance: Server updates or zone adjustments
  • Safety concerns: Zones in dangerous or restricted areas
  • Private property: Zones on private land where access is prohibited
  • Special events: Temporary restrictions during events or activities
  • GPS accuracy issues: Zones with location problems

How long do blocks last?

  • Temporary blocks: Usually last a few hours to a few days
  • Permanent blocks: May last indefinitely for safety or legal reasons
  • Maintenance blocks: Typically resolved quickly during updates

What to do with blocked zones?

  • Wait for the block to be lifted
  • Focus on other available zones in the area
  • Check back periodically to see if the zone becomes available
  • Report persistent issues to TURF support if needed
